On this tour you will discover the city of Buenos Aires through the facades of the most curious buildings in the city.
Visiting hidden corners of the historic center such as the Mortgage Bank and the Teatro Gran Rex.
We will explore the history from Colonialism to Eclecticism and in the course we will learn about the most important characters of our architecture such as Clorindo Testa, Vittorio Meano and Alejandro Prebisch.
Finally you will have the opportunity to meet a local artist who will tell you about her designs and you will have the opportunity to take a copy home of it.

Our meeting point will be in front of the Buenos Aires City Council.

End point

The tour ends at the Colon Theater at the main entrance on Libertad Street and Tucuman.

Itinerary

Duration: 1 to 3 hours (approximately)

    On our first stop we will see a little bit about Plaza De Mayo, one of the most important points of the city and we will take a short visual tour of its architectural heritage.

    On our second stop we will see the exterior of one of the most important brutalist works in the area called Microcentro or city porteña. Work by Clorindo Testa, formerly known as the Bank of London and Rio de la Plata

    Our third stop takes us to the Kirchner Cultural Center or today called Freedom Palace. There we will see the façade of the former Palace of Posts and Telegraphs and preferably the traveler can enter and tour it.

    A small intermediate sport is the COMEGA building, rationalist work. It was the second tower in the country built in reinforced concrete and the first in the city to show an exterior fully covered with travertine.

    Going into the mythical Corrientes Street we arrive at the theaters and the most recognized, the Opera and the Great Rex. We know about the history of the porteño night and its great shows like Ava Gardner and Édith Piaf

    Coming halfway through the tour we find the Obelisk of Buenos Aires. Icon of the city and the neighborhood of San Nicolas. We will see its style and know its history especially during the construction of the avenue 9 de July.

    In one of the last stops of the tour we will see the architectural complex of Plaza Lavalle with the Palace of Justice and the Julio Argentino Roca school. During our journey, we will walk the Obelisk Steps, an ideal point for taking photos.

    Finally, we will arrive at the Teatro Colon, one of the most important opera houses in the region and in the Eclectic style. The Teatro Colón has the room with the best acoustics for opera and the second best for concerts in the world. We will observe its exterior facade and culminate with a mate tasting.
