    Arrival in Moshi, Trek Briefing & Equipment Check

    Moshi

    Arrive in Tanzania and transfer to Moshi, the gateway to Mount Kilimanjaro. Check in and settle into your accommodation before meeting your Wild Pulse team for a comprehensive Kilimanjaro briefing. Your guide will review the trekking route, schedule, safety considerations and preparation for the climb. We will also complete an equipment check to ensure you are properly prepared for the mountain.

  • Day 2

    Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

    After breakfast, transfer to Marangu Gate for registration and final preparations before beginning your Kilimanjaro trek. Enter the lush rainforest and follow the trail through beautiful tropical vegetation as you gradually gain altitude. Continue towards Mandara Hut, where you will settle in for your first night on the mountain.

    Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

    After breakfast, continue your ascent through the upper rainforest and into the moorland zone. The landscape opens up as you gain altitude, revealing spectacular mountain scenery. Continue towards Horombo Hut, where you will rest and acclimatize for the next stage of your climb

    Horombo Hut Acclimatization Day

    After breakfast, spend the day acclimatizing around the Horombo area. Enjoy a guided acclimatization hike through the surrounding mountain landscape, allowing your body to adjust gradually to the increasing altitude. The day is intentionally slower, with time to explore the area, enjoy the scenery and rest at Horombo Hut. Your mountain guide will monitor how you are feeling and advise you on hydration, pacing and preparation for the next stage of the climb. Later, return to Horombo Hut for dinner and an early night in preparation for the ascent towards Kibo.

    Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

    After breakfast, begin the next stage of your ascent towards Kibo Hut. Leave the vegetation of Horombo behind and cross the dramatic alpine desert landscape of the Saddle, the high-altitude area between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Continue steadily towards Kibo Hut, taking your time to conserve energy and adjust to the altitude. Upon arrival, settle in, have dinner and prepare for the summit attempt. An early rest is important, as you will begin the summit climb during the night.

    Summit Attempt: Kibo Hut → Uhuru Peak → Horombo Hut

    Wake during the night and begin your summit attempt under the stars. Climb gradually towards the crater rim, with your experienced mountain guide supporting you throughout the ascent. Continue towards Uhuru Peak at 5,895 metres, the highest point in Africa. Take time at the summit to celebrate your achievement and enjoy the incredible views before beginning the descent. Return to Kibo Hut for a short rest before continuing down to Horombo Hut.

    Horombo Hut → Marangu Gate → Moshi

    After breakfast, begin your final descent from Horombo Hut. Walk through the beautiful Kilimanjaro rainforest as you make your way towards Marangu Gate. Once you reach the gate, complete the trekking formalities and celebrate the completion of your Kilimanjaro journey. Meet your Wild Pulse team and transfer back to Moshi for a well-deserved rest.

    Before leaving Tanzania, enjoy a complimentary cultural experience in the Kilimanjaro region. Visit a Chagga community and discover the traditions, history and way of life of one of the communities living around Mount Kilimanjaro. Continue to a beautiful local waterfall, where you can relax and enjoy the surrounding nature. The experience also includes a traditional Chagga coffee experience, where you can learn about the journey from coffee bean to cup and experience local coffee traditions. Enjoy your final moments in the Kilimanjaro region before your transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or your onward destination.
