    Cabo Santa Maria

We start the tour with a drive through rua pittoreska. This is a drive where we go completely off road. Via this remote way we'll drive up to shipwreck cabo santa maria. The shipwreck has been here since 1968. It ran aground because of human error whilst on their way to south america carrying Churchbells and different kind of cargo. We'll drive up to the mountain. Where we have a spectacular view overlooking the north west coast of the island. We'll walk down hill and into the canyons of Boa vista. It is an active walk where sometimes the terrain is a bit rugged. It is not dangerous or difficult. Everyone with a basic level of fitness is able to do the walk. Via the canyon we'll walk over the black stoned beach. Here you have some time to explore. You can choose to walk to the next stop or to go by car

After the beach we'll go to the fatima chapel. The chapel belonged to the Benoliel family; the woman was Catholic, so her husband, of Jewish origins, built the chapel in 1923 to honor her. After the family’s death, the chapel was abandoned and completely degraded, becoming an authentic ruin. in 2015 it was restored. It has a beautiful view overlooking Rotchinha and the sea.
