Our tour starts at one of the most emblematic sites in Oaxaca: Mount Alban, a sacred city built by the Zapotecs on top of a mountain. From there, panoramic views of the central valleys accompany the millennial history of this ceremonial center. We will walk among squares, temples and steles as a guide will take us through the secrets of a civilization ahead of its time.

Afterwards, we will travel to Santa Maria del Tule, home to a true old man of nature: a hollow of more than two thousand years of age. Known as the tree with the widest trunk in the world, the Tule Tree is a living wonder whose shapes in the bark spark imagination and connect with ancient local legends.

We will give ourselves a well-deserved break to taste the best of Oaxacan cuisine. Here, time is measured in flavors: mole, tlayudas, tamales wrapped in banana leaf and fresh cheese. And for the more adventurous, golden chapels that creak at the first bite. This kitchen is an edible map of the history of our state.

We will arrive at an experience that awakens the senses: the visit to a traditional mezcalería. There we will learn about the soul of the agave, from cultivation to distillate. Mezcal is not only drunk, felt, smelled, respected. With each sip, you’ll know a little more about the Oaxacan character: strong, earthy, smoky and deeply rooted in their land.

Finally we will visit Teotitlán del Valle, a town that lives to the rhythm of looms, wool and tradition. Local artisans will show us how they transform natural fibres into story-telling mats: every thread, every dye from cochineal to indigo reflects centuries of knowledge handed down from generation to generation.
