In the morning, we will take a drive to the world-renowned Terracotta Warriors Museum. This site houses over 8000 life-sized terracotta warriors and horses, which were unearthed from three burial pits. The entire underground army was buried to guard the first Chinese emperor in the afterlife. Surprisingly, there is no mention of this army in any historical records until 1974, when a local farmer discovered them while digging a well. This amazing discovery has since become known as the eighth wonder of the world.
Once we have finished exploring the Terracotta Warriors museum, we will head to a local popular restaurant for a delicious lunch nearby. Afterwards, we will drive to Xi'an City Wall. This ancient architectural marvel was built at the beginning of the Ming Dynasty 600 years ago and spans a length of approximately 14 kilometers. It is considered to be the longest and best-preserved city wall in China. The wall is 12-14 meters wide at the top and 15-18 meters wide at the bottom, standing at a height of 12 meters.
Let's head over to the Muslim Quarter, located in the center of Xi'an. As the starting point of the Silk Road, Xi'an used to be the biggest international city in the world. Many Muslim people came here to do business and settled down, and even today, more than 100,000 Muslims live in the Muslim Quarter. Most of the restaurants here are run by Muslims and serve delicious local food. This area is extremely popular among both locals and tourists, especially in the evening. For dinner, we will dine in the Muslim Quarter and savor some of the local representative snacks. It will be an unforgettable culinary experience for your journey in China. After dinner, we will drive you to your included 5-star hotel, where you will stay in a standard room. The next morning, a buffet breakfast is included.
In the morning, we will head to Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which was constructed 1300 years ago during the Tang Dynasty. At that time, it was the tallest building in Xi'an. The pagoda is situated within Dacien Temple, which served as a royal temple in the Tang Dynasty and was rebuilt 600 years ago during the Ming Dynasty.
After visiting Big Wild Goose Pagoda, our next stop will be the famous Hanyangling. This mausoleum was built over 2000 years ago for the fourth emperor of the Han Dynasty. In 1990, a large number of small pottery figures were discovered, including Han Dynasty Terracotta Warriors, pottery pigs, oxen, roosters, dogs, goats, and more. These figures were buried with the emperor for his underground afterlife. Additionally, the earliest tea leaves and silk were also discovered here. After exploring the Hanyangling, we can drop you off at your own booked hotel in downtown Xi'an or at the airport or train station, according to your request.
