  The Vasari Corridor is an elevated and covered passageway in Florence, Italy, designed DA Giorgio Vasari in 1565 for Duke Cosimo I DE' Medici. It connects Palazzo Vecchio with Palazzo Pitti, passing through the Uffizi Gallery, above Ponte Vecchio and next to the Church of Santa Felicita. Built to allow the Medici family a safe and private passage between their residence and government offices, the corridor is about 1 kilometer long and offers unique views of the city.
