Your adventure begins early as we leave behind the bustling streets of Marrakech and ascend into the spectacular High Atlas Mountains. Travel through winding roads and scenic Berber villages as we cross the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 meters).
We stop at the legendary Ait Ben Haddou, a breathtaking 11th-century kasbah and UNESCO World Heritage Site – featured in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After lunch, we continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa”, before venturing deep into the Valley of Roses and the ancient Road of 1,000 Kasbahs.
Arrive in the peaceful Dades Gorges, where you’ll enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and rest in a charming guesthouse nestled in the canyons.
After breakfast, the journey continues through dramatic landscapes toward the majestic Todra Gorge, Morocco’s most famous canyon. Enjoy a short walk along the river beneath 300-meter-high red rock cliffs — a photographer’s dream!
We then pass through the oasis towns of Tinjdad and Erfoud, known for fossils and local date markets, before reaching the gateway to the Sahara: Merzouga.
Here, your camel caravan awaits. Led by experienced camel guides, ride into the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes — Morocco’s tallest sand dunes glowing with golden hues. At sunset, arrive at your desert camp, where Berber hosts welcome you with mint tea, a hearty dinner, and live traditional drumming around the fire beneath a sky full of stars.
Wake early if you wish to catch the unforgettable Sahara sunrise. After breakfast and a refreshing shower, we begin the return journey. Travel through the spectacular and remote Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river valley, dotted with ancient kasbahs, lush palm groves, and desert villages.
We’ll stop for lunch along the way, then continue through the High Atlas Mountains, arriving back in Marrakech by evening with a heart full of memories and sand in your shoes.
