Beginning at Linn of Quoich, the route crosses the River Quoich and follows peaceful woodland trails through regenerating Scots pine forest. Along the way, you’ll visit Queen Victoria’s restored picnic cottage, hear stories of the area’s royal and Highland history, and stop at the dramatic Linn of Quoich and Punch Bowl, where fast-flowing water has carved a striking natural feature into the rock. In the second part of the walk, you’ll continue along quieter forest paths with beautiful river views, heather-covered ground, and excellent photo opportunities. The return loop passes magnificent old pine trees and opens out to wider Highland scenery, giving you a real sense of the wild beauty of the Cairngorms.
