With Flamenco for a Day, you will discover flamenco from the inside through a guided tour of Seville and a hands-on experience designed specifically for beginners.
We will begin at the Alameda de Hércules and the Macarena Basilica, where you will learn about the history, symbols, and the deep connection between this neighborhood and flamenco. Afterward, we will visit a flamenco guitar workshop to see first-hand how the soul of the Spanish sound is crafted.
We will conclude at our studio with an introductory workshop (learning the rhythm, hand-clapping, and a basic "patadita" step) followed by a relaxed talk with local appetizers. This will help you understand the "language" of flamenco, allowing you to enjoy any show with a much deeper and closer perspective.
Ideal if it’s your first time in Seville or if you want to truly understand the essence of flamenco.
In the middle of the Alameda de Hércules, you will find a kiosk called "Los Leones". We will meet right there to start our tour, making it easy for everyone to find the group. Your guide will be wearing a T-shirt with our logo so you can easily identify them. Also, if you’d like to have a coffee before we begin, there are plenty of great spots right at the meeting point!
Castellar 52 ACC
We will explore Alameda de Hércules and its tributes to flamenco artists, learning why this area is considered an important landmark in Seville’s flamenco history.
We will visit the Macarena Basilica (inside and outside) to understand the link between liturgical flamenco singing and Seville’s Holy Week traditions.
We will visit Alberto and see first-hand how flamenco guitars are handcrafted—what they are made of and what makes his work special as a luthier. You’ll also have the chance to browse his guitars and, if you wish, purchase small souvenirs.
We will briefly pass by a professional flamenco dance school led by Miguel “El Rubio” and Laura Santamaría, two highly regarded local flamenco dancers.
Flamenco Workshop at Estudio Caracoles: Here, you’ll learn a basic "patadita" (step), how to clap to the rhythm (palmas), and the fundamentals of flamenco technique.
Tapas & Talk: We will chat about how a tablao works and the secrets of flamenco communication, so you can truly understand and enjoy a live flamenco show.
