During this stage we will discover one of the most fascinating curiosities of Florence: the “buchette del vino”, or Wine Windows. These are small stone windows set in palaces, through which, since the seventeenth century, the Florentine nobles sold wine directly to passers-by. During the plague, these openings allowed wine to be served safely, without direct contact — a surprisingly modern idea! We will stop in front of one of these historic holes to tell the story and imagine life together in the Florence of the past.

    Ponte Vecchio

The Ponte Vecchio is one of the most beloved symbols of Florence and one of the most famous bridges in the world. Built in the 14th century, it is the only bridge in the city to have withstood the bombings of the Second World War. Along its arches overlook the historic goldsmith shops, which still retain the charm of the ancient medieval shops. Crossing it, you can admire the spectacular view of the Arno and the Vasari Corridor, the elevated passage that connected Palazzo Vecchio with Palazzo Pitti, once used by the Medici to move away from the people.
