At Riding The Wind, we don’t just run motorcycle tours — we craft immersive journeys for riders who want more than just a road. With small groups, carefully curated routes, and local insight, our trips deliver freedom, connection, and unforgettable adventure.
Welcome to Sri Lanka! We’ll meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in Colombo. After a chance to unwind, you’ll meet your fellow riders for a welcome dinner and tour briefing. If time permits, we’ll go for a short test ride to get comfortable with the bikes.
We hit the road and escape the city, cruising through the countryside and rural backroads on our way to the cultural heart of Sri Lanka. After a well-earned lunch, we’ll climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress — a stunning mix of history, views, and adventure to kick off the trip.
Today is rich in cultural treasures. After breakfast, we ride to the Dambulla Cave Temples, then continue north to Anuradhapura — a sacred city filled with ancient stupas, ruins, and centuries of Buddhist history. After exploring, we head to our jungle lodge near Wilpattu National Park.
We'll spend some time exploring the ancient city - filled with ancient ruins and stupas and a place that echos history in its walls.
We rise early for a guided safari in Wilpattu National Park, included in your tour. Home to leopards, sloth bears, and elephants, it’s one of Sri Lanka’s most untamed wildlife areas. After breakfast, we ride northeast to Trincomalee — where white-sand beaches and chilled coastal vibes await.
From the east coast, we ride inland through forested backroads and quiet farmland as we head toward the central hills. It’s a long but scenic day in the saddle, ending in Kandy — Sri Lanka’s cultural capital. We’ll settle in by the lake and enjoy the cool evening air.
Take a break from packing up and enjoy a relaxed day in Kandy. We’ll visit the Temple of the Tooth in the morning and spend the afternoon with a loop ride through the stunning Knuckles Mountain Range — a remote and winding route that’s made for motorcyclists and rich with local character.
Today’s ride takes us deep into the highlands. We’ll pass waterfalls, tea plantations, and misty valleys en route to Nuwara Eliya, a colonial-era hill station. After lunch and a possible tea factory stop, we continue south through winding mountain roads to arrive in the relaxed town of Ella.
We can visit the infamous bridge to get you a few picturesque travel shots
We can head up to Lipton’s Seat, a panoramic ridge where Sir Thomas Lipton once surveyed his empire.
If you enjoy waterfalls, you could head out to Diyaluma falls where you can swim at the top!
We ride down from the hills toward the tropical south, watching the landscape change with every kilometre. Expect rice fields, jungle roads, and roadside fruit stalls as we cruise toward the coast. By late afternoon, we roll into Mirissa, a sun-drenched beach town perfect for sunset beers, seafood grills, and well-earned relaxation. After the hill country, the sea breeze feels like magic.
We follow the palm-lined coastal road through sleepy fishing villages and surf spots. A highlight today is Galle Fort — a UNESCO-listed colonial fortress where old streets meet ocean views. After exploring the fort, we continue on to Hikkaduwa, where you can snorkel, relax, or just enjoy your final night on the coast. The ride is mellow, scenic, and all about soaking up the southern charm.
Our final ride takes us up the southwest coast on smooth, open roads. There’s time for a few last ocean views and maybe a coconut stop before we return to Colombo. Once back, we return the bikes, freshen up, and come together for a farewell dinner to toast the journey. It’s a chance to share stories, laughter, and maybe start planning the next adventure.
It’s time to say goodbye. We’ll arrange your airport transfer based on your flight time, and send you off with new friendships, unforgettable memories, and the unbeatable feeling that only comes from the open road.
