Looking for a taste of real Japanese home-cooked meals? At Grandma’s Kitchen, we serve the kind of dishes that Japanese families enjoy at their dining tables every day. Simple, wholesome, and made with care, our meals are a true reflection of Japan’s home cooking culture — comforting, nutritious, and filled with seasonal flavors.
Unlike restaurant-style Japanese cuisine, which often focuses on elaborate presentation and refined techniques, home cooking is about warmth and balance. Our menu changes with the seasons, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients to bring out the best flavors of each time of year. You’ll enjoy plenty of vegetables, seasonal greens, and traditional recipes that are gentle on the body and satisfying to the heart.
After your meal, you can take a short 5-minute walk to explore Kochi Castle or visit Hirome Market, one of the city’s most popular local spots. Grandma’s Kitchen is conveniently located for sightseeing.
The meeting point is at the main entrance (1st floor) of the Kanau building. This building is on Obisan Road. Ask to get at "Kinema at Obisan-road" for taxi use. We are located about a block (east) from Kochi Castle. Google map:https: //g.co/kgs/aaCZyjM
