Join a guided Northern Lights tour from Tromsø, led by an experienced guide holding a Master of Science degree. We drive to wherever the skies are clearest for the best chance of seeing the aurora, and the evening includes a campfire with warm drinks, a hot meal, and roasted marshmallows.
The tour is fully flexible — there's no strict schedule, so when the aurora is out, we stay. The tour starts with pickup from the Tourist Information Office in Tromsø in a glass-roofed minibus, giving good views of the Arctic landscape along the way. Depending on the weather forecast, we head to wherever the skies are clearest — this could be inland, out to Kvaløya, or across the border into Finland.
On clear nights, we stop at our base camp near Skogsfjordvannet, a freshwater lake about an hour from Tromsø, where we set up the fire in a small warm cabin.
Professional photos are included. At the end of the evening, we drop you off at your hotel in central Tromsø or a nearby taxi stand.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Meet us in front of the Tourist Shop Tromsø Harbour. Your guide will be standing in front of the minibus and holding a sign that says our company name. Please have your ticket ready to show to the guide upon arrival.
We can either drop you off at the meeting point, or, if you prefer, anywhere in downtown Tromsø or at the taxi station.

We have many beautiful places to choose from, depending on the day and where the clear skies are. Once we reach the point, we spend some time there having a meal, enjoying a bonfire, talking, sipping hot drinks, and watching the northern lights. Some nights, we even go to multiple locations to find the best views. When the weather is suitable, we will spend the evening in our basecamp in a cozy cabin with bonfire next to the lake and wait for the northern lights in warmth.
