Featuring over 990 arches, this impressive 18th-century aqueduct transported water to the Monastery of Santa Clara and stands as a remarkable piece of Portuguese engineering.
As we continue our journey along the coast, we arrive at the Marina of Póvoa de Varzim. This vibrant spot is perfect for boat-watching and enjoying nautical activities, with a variety of dining and shopping options nearby.
We drive past the medieval castle of Póvoa de Varzim, now in ruins, yet rich in history. This ancient structure offers a glimpse into the city’s medieval heritage and its strategic importance in the past.
After lunch in Póvoa de Varzim, we’ll drive through the city, uncovering its rich historical heritage. Passing by the main square, Praça do Almada, we’ll admire the statue of the renowned poet Eça de Queiroz. Here, our guide will share some fascinating historical insights before we begin our return journey to Porto.
