What to expect

The Katxupa Workshop – Countryside Edition is an authentic experience in the rural heart of Boa Vista Island, where tradition, simplicity, and Cape Verdean hospitality come together. Guests are welcomed by a local family and learn step by step how to prepare katxupa, the country’s most iconic dish, cooked in a traditional way, often over a wood fire. While the meal slowly cooks, there is time to share stories, enjoy local music, taste grogue or ponche, and relax. The experience ends with a shared lunch, creating a genuine moment of cultural connection you don’t just visit — you live.
