Your journey is filled with breathtaking stops to capture the beauty of Alay! From Osh in the morning (08:00) start by driving 80 km to Gulcho town, where you’ll visit the fascinating Kurmanjan Datka Museum. Immerse yourself in the rich history of Alay during an hour-long exploration Next, embark on a 50 km drive to Kolduk Lake, a hidden gem where you can take an invigorating 5 km hike along the sparkling lakeshore, soaking in the serene atmosphere. As the journey unfolds, drive along the legendary M41 road, pausing at picturesque spots to photograph the striking, colorful rock formations of the Alay Mountains, including the Uch-Tobo and Taldyk Pass. Arrive at Sary-Tash for a quick break, where you’ll also learn about the nearby border crossings into Tajikistan and China. Conclude the day in Tulpar-Kol, stop by the Alay Travel office for all the trekking tour insights you need, then enjoy leisurely hikes around the village. Upon arrival short hiking around the lake.
Tulpar-Kol Lake Nestled in the shadow of the majestic Pamir-Alay Mountains, Tulpar-Kol Lake is a serene alpine gem in southern Kyrgyzstan. Located near the base of Lenin Peak, the lake offers stunning reflections of snow-capped peaks on its calm, it’s a haven for trekkers, nature enthusiasts, and adventurers seeking pristine landscapes. Tulpar-Kol serves as a perfect base for exploring nearby trails, horseback riding, or simply soaking in the unspoiled beauty of Kyrgyzstan’s highlands. Tulpar-Kol, known for its picturesque yurt camps, is an incredible destination for all types of travelers, whether active hikers or those looking for a more relaxed experience. Guests can stay in traditional yurts and enjoy activities such as hiking, horseback riding, and multi-day trekking options lasting 3 to 4 days.
Most popular trekking route, covering a total distance of approximately 14 km round trip, taking around 6–7 hours. Our journey starts at the Achyk-Tash area, where we cross a pedestrian bridge and immediately ascend into a picturesque gorge. The trail gradually leads us to the Alpinists' Base Camp, a lively spot featuring a variety of colorful tent camps and traditional yurts. Along the way, you'll see climbers who are doing expeditions. As we pass the Alpinists' Base Camp, we continue towards the Onion Glade, a stunning open area offering breathtaking views of icy, snow-covered peaks and the roaring Achyk-Tash River. This spot is perfect for photos and a short rest to soak in the incredible mountain scenery. If you're feeling energetic and eager to explore further, we'll proceed to the Travelers' Pass. However, if you prefer a shorter hike or feel ready to return, we can turn back from the Onion Glade and head back to the yurts at Achyk-Tash for some well-deserved relaxation.
From Tulpar-Kul to Osh 4 hours drive on the same road and back to Osh are included in the program. Except the program, we will have many options for your next trip. If you have any plans to continue the journey, we will organize the following paid tours. 1. Continue to Tajikistan via the Pamir Highway we can organize transportation to the Kyzyl-Art Border or directly to Dushanbe along the Pamir Highway. 2. Transfer to Erkeshtam Border (China) For those heading to China, we can provide a transfer to the Erkeshtam Border. 3. Trekking Through the Alai and Kichik-Alai Mountains For trekking enthusiasts, we offer a beautiful and popular trekking route through the Alai and Kichik-Alai Mountains. Option 1: Complete a 4-day ring trek and return to Sary-Mogol. Option 2: After 3 days of trekking, leave for Osh from Kojo-Kelen.
