Whether you're a history enthusiast or just seeking a peaceful escape, this self-guided tour lets you explore at your own pace, with captivating storytelling every step of the way.
The audio tour commences at the Ashoka gate (gate 1) opposite to the Mausam Bhawan. Visitors can park their cars at the parking near the gate.
The tour concludes at the Athpula bridge near the gate at the Subramania Bharti Marg. Visitors are welcome to explore the park south from here.
Passing through the Ashoka gate, travelers will head North towards the Bara Gumbad. On the way they'll pass by a fork to the National Bonsai Park - a hidden gem and an optional but recommended corner of Lodhi Garden.
Facing the Yoga park in front of the Bara Gumbad, travelers will have a chance to visit the Herb Garden and see a collection of rare and common herbs of the Indian continent. At the same time, they'll hear about the Lodi and Sayyid era (1414-1526) of the Delhi sultanate.
The walk proceeds to Muhammad Shah's tomb in the south-west direction where travelers hear about architectural elements of the era and the influence of the Sayyid families.
The tour continues at Bada Gumbad, a grand gateway, leading to the Bada Gumbad Mosque, adorned with mind-blowing carvings. Here travelers can pause to capture some memorable photos before heading North toward Sheesh Gumbad.
Further north, upon crossing the water body (with beautiful fountains!) the travelers will reach the tomb of the 2nd last Lodi ruler - Sikandar Lodi. Here travelers get to explore and admire the tomb's architecture and significance.
The tour wraps up at the Athpula (8-piered) bridge with some details on British-era transformation of Lodhi Garden (aka Lady Willington Park)
