We begin our adventure early, starting from Cuenca and crossing the picturesque villages of Solano and Déleg. Our first stop is the archaeological site of Cojitambo, where we will start the route Civilization Seekers: From the Andes to the Amazon. Here you will discover the fascinating history of the Cañaris and the Incas, civilizations that left a deep mark in southern Ecuador. Explore the legacy of cosmology, mythology and canary art before continuing to the majestic Ingapirca, the country’s most important ceremonial temple, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch with local specialties on a historic hacienda. Then we will head north through stunning Andean landscapes, climbing to 3,500 meters above sea level before reaching Guamote, a charming village surrounded by mountains. Here we will stay at the traditional Hacienda Santa Ana, a cozy retreat nestled in the heart of the Andes.

Day 2
Guamote – Lagunas de Ozogoche – Atillo – Macas

After a nutritious breakfast, we will embark on a day full of breathtaking geographical contrasts. First, we will visit the Palmyrene mountain desert, and then we will ascend to 4,000 meters to reach the mystical Lagoons of Ozogoche, famous for the mysterious natural phenomenon known as the "Tribute," where migratory birds give their lives. From there, we will cross valleys and mountain paths until we reach the lake complex of Atillo, surrounded by majestic summits and Andean moors. The day will end with a spectacular descent into the Amazon rainforest, where waterfalls, lush vegetation and wildlife will accompany us all the way to Macas, where you can relax at the charming Arrayán y Piedra Lodge overlooking the Upano River.

Day 3
Adventure Day in Macas

Today, adrenaline lovers can enjoy a day of excitement in the fast-moving waters of the Upano River with an exciting rafting adventure in the heart of the jungle. For those looking for a quieter experience, we offer immersive jungle walks, exploring biodiversity and learning about the traditions of local indigenous communities. At the end of the day, you will relax on the hacienda, enjoying its amenities and preparing for the next adventures.

Day 4
Macas – Sucua – Chiviaza – Lemon Dance

After breakfast, we will head to Sucua, where we will visit a private museum that displays fascinating archaeological artifacts. Then we will continue along the Amazon Trunk Road, following the Upano River and admiring the beauty of the rivers of the Amazon. In Chiviaza, we will explore a system of waterfalls and discover petroglyphs on a local estate, a unique archaeological treasure that connects us with ancient civilizations. The day will end at a hacienda in Limón Indanza, where we will enjoy a group dinner and share stories of the day.

Limón Indanza – Gualaquiza – Sigsig – Sanjuanpamba

This day will start early for birdwatching enthusiasts. After breakfast, we will visit the Colorada Waterfalls and the Catazho area, known for its petroglyphs. Our destination will be Gualaquiza, the Pearl of the Amazon, where we will explore its natural and cultural richness before heading to the Black Cave of Chobsi and one of the most important centers of weaving toquilla straw hats. We will spend the night at Hacienda Sanjuanpamba, where a hearty dinner awaits us after a day full of discoveries.

Hacienda Sanjuanpamba – Basin

On our last day, we will travel along the Fruit Route, which connects Paute, Bulán and Azogues, savoring the landscapes and fresh local produce. Finally, we will conclude our tour with a visit to the Pumapungo Museum and Archaeological Center in Cuenca, where we will participate in a traditional Andean ceremony that symbolizes our connection with the land and our roots.
