-What is ‘Tatami-beri’?-
Tatami-beri refers to the decorative fabric edges sewn onto Japanese tatami mats. Originally used for durability, it later gained symbolic significance, representing family crests, social status, and cultural heritage.
Each tatami-beri pattern carries a story, with traditional motifs symbolizing longevity, prosperity, and protection. Today, its intricate designs and vibrant colors are widely used in crafts and accessories.
