Drive from your hotel to Temple of Heaven.
Arrive at the Temple of Heaven Start your day early to avoid crowds, enter through the Eest Gate. Take leisurely stroll through the park, where locals do morning exercises. Visit the iconic three-tired circular building-Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests (Qiniandian) , Imperial Vault of Heaven( Echo Wall) and Circular Mound Altar. The Temple of Heaven is a historic complex of buildings that dates back to the early 15th century during the Ming Dynasty. It was originally used by emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for good harvests. Temple of Heaven was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998 and is considered one of the finest examples of Chinese ritual architecture.
Drive from Temple of Heaven to Mutianyu Great Wall. The journey will take approximately 1.5 hours. Your tour guide will explain the related history and stories along the way, feel free to ask any questions you may have.
Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is located 70 kilometers to the northeast of Beijing city. The site underwent refurbishment during the Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644) and was an important strategic location, guarding the entrance to the plains where Beijing is situated. Access to the Wall is available via cable car and chairlift. You have the opption to take the cable car/ski lift halfway up then hike the rest of the way. For the descent, you can choose to take the cable car down or opt for the toboggan slide. Once on the Wall, enjoy walking along this highway of history, soaking in the stunning panorama of the surrounding countryside.
After the Mutianyu Great Wall tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing. The journey will take approximately 1.5 hours. You will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the countryside around Beijing.
