If you are in Budapest and want to discover Transylvania this is the right tour for you. A 4-day tour that will take you through the most impressive places Transylvania has to offer and will leave you wanting for more. Our guides are experts in Transylvanian history and culture and will tell you the story of this fantastic region that many want to know and understand.
You'll be picked up from Budapest Airport or from any address in Budapest or the surrounding area.
Our first stop will be at Corvin Castle, probably the most amazing gothic castle in Eastern Europe where we'll be talking about the history of Transylvania and who built this beautiful fort.
Here we'll be exploring one of the seven UNESCO fortified churches of Transylvania and understand who and why built these amazing fortifications that are scattered throughout Transylvania.
Our day will end in Sibiu with a tour of the historical Old Town and of course a traditional Romanian dinner at one of the restaurants nearby. Overnight in Sibiu.
First stop of the day will be in the small town of Carta where we will be exploring the ruins of the easternmost Benedictine Abbey in Europe where parts of the movie "The Nun" were filmed.
The highlight of today will be our visit to Dracula's Castle where your guide will tell the story of Vlad the Impaler and how the legend of Dracula has managed to attract so many people to visit this castle and learn about its history.
Before hitting the hay we will be doing a walking tour of Brasov's Old Town which many consider to be one of the most impressive in Transylvania. During the tour we'll get to visit the Black Church, the largest gothic church in Romania.
On our way to Sighisoara we will stop to visit another UNESCO Fortified Church in Viscri, the place where King Charles of England has a house and comes to visit every year. Here we will explore the fortified church inside and out and get the change to go up the main tower!
Sighisoara will surely amaze you with its beautiful colorful houses and with its interesting history. We'll explore the Old Town and get to see one of the last inhabited medieval forts in Europe.
Last but not least, Turda Salt Mine will simply leave you speechless. One of the most amazing underground places in Europe is right here in the heart of Transylvania where we'll be 120m underground ( 360 feet ). Don't worry, it's a huge space and you won't feel claustrophobic
On our last day we will be visiting the place where the unification of Romania was signed back in 1918, Alba Iulia. The Old Town is simply stunning, as it is basically within a star shaped fortress so there so much to discover!
Drive back to Budapest or Budapest Airport.
