  Zona Arqueologica de Monte Alban

  You will have the opportunity to visit the fascinating archaeological area of Monte Albán, accompanied by an expert guide who will take you to discover its history, architecture and great cultural importance.   You will have the opportunity to visit San Bartolo Coyotepec, an emblematic place where the famous black mud is made, a craft tradition that has been handed down from generation to generation. During the visit, you will be able to get up close and personal with the process of creating these unique pieces, renowned for their elegance and distinctive finish. You will observe the ancient techniques used by artisans, including the use of the pre-Hispanic lathe, a fundamental tool in its elaboration. In addition, our guide will share the history and cultural significance of black mud, as well as the traditions that are part of this important expression of Oaxacan art

  We will visit Tierra Mágica, a local restaurant where you can enjoy typical Oaxaca a la carte foods, as well as vegan options, designed for all tastes.

  We will have the opportunity to visit San Martín Tilcajete, recognized as one of the main artisan towns of Oaxaca and birthplace of the famous Alebrijes. Here you will get to know this unique tradition closely through demonstrations by the artisans themselves, who will show you the process of making these colorful wooden figures and the use of natural pigments. They will share the history and cultural significance of the alebrijes, as well as the tradition of the shades, representations of animals that inspire these incredible works of art. During the visit, you can admire a wide variety of pieces that reflect the talent and creativity of the community.

  Zocalo

  At the end of the tour we will return to the city, leaving you a few blocks from the Zocalo. If you prefer to get off somewhere else along the route, tell your guide and we will gladly make it possible.
