Often the Scopello stacks represent the conclusion of a boat tour in the Zingaro Reserve. Seeing them rise from the turquoise sea will make your heart beat with emotion and you can’t resist the desire to swim under these rocky giants. Even better if, after swimming, a glass of wine awaits you on board to toast with! Right on the beach in front of the stacks stands the Tonnara di Scopello. Founded in the 13th century, this trap became an important centre for bluefin tuna fishing and, in the latter part of its history, was owned by the Florio family. The fish processing plants were decommissioned at the beginning of the twentieth century and today the tuna trap is an open-air museum that offers a fascinating window into Sicily’s maritime past.

Another hidden gem is Cala Mazzo di Sciacca, a small cove of white pebbles and crystal clear waters. This cove is less frequented than others, making it an ideal destination for those looking for a bit of tranquility and intimacy. While sailing, it is not uncommon to spot groups of dolphins playing in the surrounding waters, offering an unforgettable natural spectacle.

In the central part of the coast Cala della Disa, formed by two small coves divided by very high rock walls, which offer shaded areas in the hottest hours of the day. The crystal clear, shallow waters are ideal for children, who can have fun diving into this fabulous sea.

Cala Marinella is perfect for snorkelers, while the lack of a real beach makes it little frequented by swimmers. On this part of the coast you can observe ancient watchtowers along the way, erected to protect the coast from pirate attacks. These towers, some of which date back to the 16th century, are a fascinating reminder of Sicily's rich history.

Cala dell’Uzzo, famous for the cave of the same name. This prehistoric cave belonging to the Zingaro Reserve is one of the most important archaeological sites in Sicily. During the 1970s, in fact, the excavations carried out here uncovered human presences dating back about 10,000 years. The finds are now preserved in the Antonio Salinas Regional Archaeological Museum in Palermo. The cave is not accessible by sea, however the emerald cove is ideal for a bathing stop.

Cala Tonnarella dell’Uzzo, considered by many the most beautiful cove of the Zingaro Reserve and one of the most popular. Its name derives from the “tonnarella”, a small tuna fishery used for fishing, in the past the main productive activity of this area. Here the crystal clear sea embraces a pebble beach, while the seabed gives great emotions to snorkelers.

    San Vito lo Capo

San Vito Lo Capo is one of Sicily's most fascinating resorts, famous for its breathtaking beaches and relaxed atmosphere. Located in the northwest tip of the island, between the nature reserves of Monte Cofano and the Zingaro, it is a piece of paradise that attracts visitors from all over the world every year. The beach of San Vito Lo Capo is undoubtedly the beating heart of the village: long and sandy, with crystal clear waters ranging from turquoise to deep blue, it is ideal for those seeking relaxation, but also for those who love swimming or practicing water sports. The fine white sand, combined with the beauty of the sea, creates an idyllic atmosphere that does not go unnoticed.
