  Once the legendary home of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Stadium stood in Irving from 1971 to 2008. Famous for the giant opening in its roof, the stadium became one of the most recognizable venues in professional football and hosted the Cowboys throughout some of the franchise's greatest championship years. The Cowboys played 38 seasons there before moving to AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Texas Stadium was demolished by implosion in 2010, but its legacy remains an unforgettable part of DFW sports history.
