What to expect
Join us for a private six-hour fishing charter on Lake Hāwea, reserved exclusively for your group. Meet your skipper at the Lake Hāwea boat ramp, step aboard, and head out for a full fishing experience on one of New Zealand’s most peaceful alpine lakes.
After a short safety briefing, your skipper will explain the plan for the day and set up the fishing gear. With more time on the water, you can explore different parts of the lake and try a range of techniques to target trout and salmon in deeper water.
Your skipper will guide you through each method, explain the local conditions, and help beginners and experienced anglers get the most from the trip. Between fishing spots, enjoy views of Isthmus Peak, the Southern Alps, and Lake Hāwea’s rugged mountain scenery.
The boat is equipped with an electric trolling motor, allowing for quiet, steady, and low-impact fishing. Quality gear, expert guidance, snacks, and cold non-alcoholic drinks are included.
