What to expect
Join us for a private three-hour fishing charter on Lake Wānaka, reserved exclusively for your group. Meet your skipper at Wānaka Marina, step aboard, and head out onto one of New Zealand’s most scenic alpine lakes.
After a short safety briefing, your skipper will set up the fishing gear and explain the plan for the trip. Using downriggers, you’ll target lake-dwelling trout and salmon while learning about the fishing techniques, local conditions, and the species found in Lake Wānaka.
The boat is equipped with an electric trolling motor, allowing for quiet, steady, and low-impact fishing. As you move across the lake, you’ll also enjoy views of Roys Peak, Mount Aspiring, and the Twin Peaks of Treble Cone.
This private charter is suitable for beginners and experienced anglers. Quality fishing gear, expert guidance, snacks, and cold non-alcoholic drinks are included. Morning, afternoon, and summer evening departures are available.
