What to expect

Begin your adventure with a scenic pickup from Chiang Mai. Arrive at the village to a warm welcome from your homestay family. Explore on a guided tour to learn about Karen traditions, sustainable living, and daily life. Hike into the forest, listening for gibbons, and join cultural activities like cooking local dishes and basket weaving with village elders.

On day two, wake to the calls of gibbons and set out with local guides to spot them in the wild. Then journey deeper into the forest to discover hidden trails and share a traditional lunch surrounded by nature. Take part in community projects—seasonal farming, coffee or tea work, or artisan weaving—gaining hands-on insight into village life. After dinner, head to a viewpoint for a beautiful sunset over the mountains.

The final morning offers one more chance to encounter gibbons before a hearty breakfast. Venture on a deeper forest hike to uncover more of its flora and fauna. After a farewell lunch, depart for Chiang Mai with lasting memories of culture, connection, and the beauty of the Karen highlands.
