Art & Mezcal

Beginning at the heart of the city, the Zócalo, we’ll take a scenic walk to a Nieveria to try authentic artisanal ice cream. From there we will take another scenic walk to a local art gallery. Here, you’ll dive into the ancient craft of wood engraving, learning the technique and having the opportunity to create your very own piece of art. Please know that this tour includes a 30 minute demonstration. A class is available for purchase at an additional cost and can be paid directly to art store. This can take anywhere from 30-90 minutes of hands on artistry. You’ll also have the opportunity to tour the gallery and purchase a one of a kind work from talented local artists.
From there, we’ll stroll to a hidden speakeasy in the city’s historic center. Inside, a top-rated local bartender will teach you the art of crafting Oaxaca’s most famous cocktails, focusing on mezcal. You’ll learn how to mix the perfect drink while sipping on mezcal from the region’s best distilleries. Whether you’re a cocktail aficionado or a beginner, this hands-on workshop will leave you with new skills.
The experience will end at the speakeasy, where you’re welcome to stay and enjoy the ambiance.
