Our tour will commence at this newest and largest National Gallery building (“Kvadrat” 500) renowned for its impressive collection of 1,700 artworks displayed across twenty-eight halls on four levels. The exhibition highlights Bulgarian art from the mid-19th century to the 20th century, alongside medieval European art and pieces from Asia, Africa, and America. Our next stop is the formal Royal Palace, which once served as the residence of the kings of the Third Bulgarian Kingdom. Today, it houses a rich art collection along with an ethnographic museum, which presents different traditional clothes, crafts and customs.
