The trip departs at 9:00 from Plovdiv. The traveling time to Hisarya is about 1 hour on a scenic road. Upon arrival, begin your day with a guided tour of Hisarya, a town celebrated for its mineral springs since Roman times. Founded as a Roman spa center, Hisarya preserves nearly 4 km of fortress walls — some of the best preserved in Bulgaria. The monumental “Camels Gate” remains a symbol of the town. Just a short walk from the modern thermals, the Roman Baths of Hisarya are among the best-preserved ancient bath complexes in Bulgaria. These ruins date back to the 2nd–3rd century AD, when Hisarya was known as Diocletianopolis, a celebrated Roman spa city built around its natural hot springs. Today you can walk among the remains of large bathing halls, heated floors, and aqueduct systems that once supplied water from nearby mineral sources, giving you a glimpse into ancient wellness culture.
After your tour, head to a modern mineral complex that combines crystal-clear outdoor and indoor thermal pools with landscaped gardens and a relaxed, resort-style atmosphere. Enjoy spacious outdoor pools ideal for warm afternoons, as well as a heated indoor mineral pool for year-round comfort. Sun loungers and umbrellas are typically included with entrance, making it easy to spend a full, carefree day by the water. Families will appreciate the dedicated children’s pools with playful features, while adults can unwind in the Relax Zone, featuring a sauna, steam room, salt room, and indoor thermal pool — perfect for easing muscle tension after travel or long sightseeing days. Several on-site dining options, from pool bars to casual restaurants, allow you to enjoy fresh drinks, light meals, and local flavors without leaving the complex. At the SPA complex you will have a plenty of time - about 5 hours. At 16:00 you will depart and at 17:00 you should be back in Plovdiv.
