Live the best possible experience in Rio de Janeiro with a local tour guide and a private driver. During this 8 hours tour, you can either follow my recommendations or personalize your tour based on your own interests. My recommendation is for sure to start by visiting the greatest sightseeing of the city: the unmistakable Christ Statue at the Corcovado Mountain and, at the opposite side, the wonderful Sugar Loaf Mountain (tickets not included).
However, Rio has so much more to offer. Here are some options that might interest you:
• Tour at the backstage of Carnaval: get to see the creation of the costumes and floats for the next Carnaval.
• Visit the Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro, inspired by the Mayan Pyramids.
• Visit the unique Selarón steps, covered with more than 2.000 tiles from more than 60 countries.
• Have a calm and chill picnic at the TIjuca Forest amidst animals and waterfalls.
• Visit the Historical Downtown.
• And much more…
You will have a private driver and private guide picking you up at your hotel or pier. If you are in any hotel, I need the hotel name, your room number and the time to pick you up. I will be at the lobby waiting for you. If you come by plane, let me know your flight number and the estimated arrival time. I will be waiting with a sign with your name. Please give me your phone number, WhatsApp and e-mail.
After the pickup at your hotel, we will take you to the Cosme Velho Station and embark on the train through 3 kilometers (around 2 miles) inside the Tijuca Forest to the Peak of the Corcovado Mountain where you will find one the 7 wonders of the world: Christ the Redeemer. The sanctuary, located 710 meters (2.330 feet) above the sea level, offers you a mouth dropping view of the city of Rio de Janeiro.
Then, we will take you to a city tour downtown where you will have a panoramic (external) view of the famous Maracanã Stadium.
We will drive through the Sambadrome (external), the walkway of the greatest open theater of the world: the Carnaval.
Then, we will go to the bohemian neighborhood of Lapa where we find the Selarón Steps. Covered with more than 2.000 tiles from more than 60 countries, the steps are a tribute to Brazil left by the eccentric artist Jorge Selarón.
To end the tour in great style, we will embark on the cable car to the Urca Mountain at 220 meters (721 feet) above sea level. Then we will take the second cable car to the Sugar Loaf Mountain, at 396 meters (1.300 feet) above sea level with an impressive 360° view of the Guanabara Bay at the opposite side of the Corcovado Mountain.
After the main attractions, the tourist can choose what they want to do with the remaining time. Example: visit the most famous beaches, going to museums downtown, get to know the backstage of the carnaval, and much more.
