We start with a kayak across the glacier lake with stunning scenery all around. We then walk to the glacier, which is sure to impress you. Once at the glacier, a guide will provide the equipment and information before starting your hike on the glacier. Smaller group sizes ensure that everyone will have a chance to enjoy the glacier.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
We sell coffees and warm/waterproof clothing if you'd like to come a bit earlier. PLEASE NOTE: You will need to follow the guide in your own vehicle from the meeting point to the glacier. Please be sure that you have enough fuel/charge to get to the glacier.
What to expect
Once we are on the other side of the lake, we have a walk to the ice (approx 45 mins). On the walk up to the glacier, the guide will explain glaciers, how they work, where they have been and local history. Once at the glacier, we put on the crampons and rope for the glacier walk and spend two hours exploring the glacier at our leisure.
This kayak and glacier hike tour is perfect for families who visit in May/June until we begin tours on Styggevatnet in July. Then you have an option to take the Glacier Half Day Tour on Styggevatnet.
We meet at the Labben for this tour. You follow the Icetroll vehicle to the lake and on the way there is a toll of 90kr, to be aware of. You can pay for this up to 48 hours after the trip, by going onto the website advertised on the sign at the entrance to the National Reserve.
