We’re located in Candelaria, right before the Cerro de la Cruz steps. Walking toward the steps, you’ll pass the basketball court and a small park on your left. About 30 meters after the park, we’re on the right-hand side—a red building with “Pachamama Tours” outside. Once outside ring the bell.
Arrive at our office by 6:30 AM on the day of the hike. Pachamama Tours, provides all necessary gear (jackets, gloves, hats) and a detailed briefing. Optional Fuego Volcano hikes, snacks, extra gear, and porters are also available for purchase.
The ride from our office to La Soledad takes 45–60 min by shared minibus. With our private shorter path, the hike to basecamp is now 4–4.5 hours, skipping the toughest section. Enjoy scenic breaks, lunch (bring toilet paper), and arrive with more energy to watch Fuego erupt at night. Warm up by the fire with hot chocolate (optional rum), then enjoy a hearty dinner. Experience the thrill of standing just 200 meters from Fuego Volcano’s eruptions on this adventurous 3.5-hour round trip! At an altitude of 3,768 meters (12,362 feet), this hike offers a safe yet awe-inspiring vantage point to witness one of Guatemala’s most active volcanoes. Departing at 4 PM, the hike requires intermediate fitness and takes you to the volcano, where you’ll spend 30 minutes watching the eruptions up close. Participants must come prepared with water, a jacket, and a headlamp, as this is a difficult hike. For safety reasons, travelers are not allowed to approach Fuego alone—doing so will immediately end the trip to ensure everyone’s well-being. The price is Q300 per person and Q500 for solo travelers. Wake up at 4 AM for a short summit hike and a breathtaking sunrise over the volcanic terrain. Spend 45 minutes soaking in the views before descending to basecamp for a hot breakfast. Afterward, begin your descent to La Soledad, returning to Antigua by 12 PM.
