What to expect

Just a short walk from Asakusa and Tokyo Skytree, this traditional tea ceremony offers a peaceful cultural break.
Held at a table, it’s beginner-friendly and doesn’t require sitting on the floor.
Your English-speaking instructor will gently guide you through each step.

You’ll enjoy two bowls of matcha with seasonal Japanese sweets.
The first is served by the host as a graceful demonstration.
The second is prepared by you, allowing you to focus on each gesture and feel the mindful rhythm of tea-making.

You’ll also learn about the tools, movements, and the spirit of Wa, Kei, Sei, Jaku — harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility.

Clothing is flexible. Free kimono is available for those who wish to wear it, but casual clothing is also welcome.
A tea ceremony belt and paper holder are also provided for a more authentic experience and great photo opportunities.

This small-group, English-friendly experience is popular with international travelers. Children under 6 years old are welcome for a private tea ceremony session.
If your group would like a private session, please contact us — we’ll be happy to arrange it for you.
