Join us on a grand day tour through some of Norway’s most iconic scenery, starting and ending in the beautiful town of Ålesund. This journey takes you through deep fjords, majestic mountains, and the world-famous UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord. The experience includes both a scenic fjord cruise and a gondola ride with panoramic views over the Sunnmøre Alps.
Meeting time: 08:45 Latest departure: 09:00 The guide and the bus will be present 30 min before depature, and wearing a blue jacket and ID badge with the company logo. The pickuppoint is at the same location as the ferry or speedboat to Valderøya and to Hareid.
Upon arrival in Geiranger, we set out on a guided walk in the area surrounding the village. The walk takes place in breathtaking natural surroundings, and the guide will share stories, local culture, and insight into how people have lived in this UNESCO-protected fjord landscape. The walk is adjusted to suit the group’s pace and weather conditions, offering an up-close experience of both nature and history. After the guided portion, you’ll have free time to explore Geiranger on your own before we prepare for your fjord cruise to Hellesylt.
We board the fjord ferry for an unforgettable cruise through the Geirangerfjord – one of the world’s most beautiful and iconic fjords, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The cruise takes us past towering cliffs, remote mountain farms, and dramatic waterfalls. Along the way, we’ll pass the famous Seven Sisters, The Suitor, and The Bridal Veil waterfalls. The cruise lasts approximately one hour, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the view from the deck, take photos, and soak in the peaceful atmosphere as we glide through what is perhaps Norway’s ultimate natural wonder.
After disembarking in Hellesylt, your coach takes us further east toward the village of Stranda, often referred to as the “Alpine Capital of Norway.” The journey winds through picturesque landscapes of mountains, lakes, and small rural communities before we arrive at the Stranda Ski Centre, base station for the gondola. From here, we ride the Stranda Gondola to the summit of Roaldshornet, 1,230 metres above sea level. The gondola offers breathtaking alpine views as we rise from the fjord to the high mountains. At the top, a truly unforgettable panoramic view awaits – overlooking Storfjorden, the village of Stranda, and the dramatic Sunnmøre Alps, with their steep peaks, deep valleys, and snow-capped summits. On clear days, you can even see all the way to the ocean in the west and the mountain ranges surrounding Geiranger to the east.
