The main entrance on Norfolk St is closed after 5pm and at weekends. Parking on Norfolk street is only free for two hours. We recommend using the entrance within our carpark. This entrance is open at all times and parking is free at all times. Free car park entrance on Flint Street, L1 0DH

What to expect

Our Intro to Sewing class is designed especially for absolute beginners – no prior experience needed, no pressure. Just a friendly, supportive environment where you'll learn the very basics of sewing from the ground up. Whether you're curious about crafting, looking to mend your own clothes, or dreaming of making your own garments or homeware, this introductory session is your gateway into the world of sewing.

What You’ll Learn

Over the course of this short, focused class, we’ll guide you through the essential skills you need to get started with confidence. You’ll learn:

How to thread a sewing machine correctly

Winding a bobbin and understanding its function

How to change a needle

Getting to know the parts and settings of a sewing machine

Practising a range of basic stitches

How to troubleshoot common beginner issues (like tangled thread or skipped stitches)

Using different types of fabric

Safe use of sewing tools

By the end of the session, you’ll have completed several small but satisfying sewing projects to take home – useful and lovely pieces that you’ll feel proud of. More importantly, you’ll leave with the confidence to continue practising at home.
