Tokyo, Japan

1 hour 30 minutes (approximately)
Offered in: Japanese and 1 more

A great-value vegan class where you can learn about Japan including history, culture and health tips using fermented foods. Enjoy this unique, beauty focused class in a convenient and nice kitchen!

We also use plenty of ingredients that are great for your health and beauty, including Japanese superfoods, amazake (fermented sweet drink) and sake kasu (sake lees, contain alcohol).

The venue is in the heart of Tokyo, so you won’t be affected by the weather. The class is just 1.5 hours long, making it perfect even for busy travelers!

Fermented foods are so specialized that very few classes exist, making this a one-of-a-kind experience.

Also enjoy a sake kasu hand mask trial. Enjoy the Japanese beauty afternoon tea!

Special Promotion : We also offer another class, Fermented Food Lunch Class. If you join two classes on a same day, you will receive a special gift — rice koji amazake, the one we use in the dessert class.

What to expect

Why not enrich your trip to Japan by learning deeply about fermented foods, the foundation of Japanese cuisine and unique culture, and a key to health and beauty?

This class is very unique and special. We use Amazake (traditional fermented rice paste, very sweet without sugar) and Sakekasu (Sake lees, the nutrient-rich byproduct left after pressing sake). They are good for glowing skin and gut health, and so delicious!(Note: Sakekasu contains alcohol 8%).

In this class, you’ll not only make fermented desserts but also enjoy a soothing and nourishing sake kasu hand mask experience, which is rarely offered in cooking classes.

Enjoy the Japanese beauty afternoon tea!

Let’s nourish your body inside and out with the power of Japanese fermented foods!

* The menu changes depending on the season.
