The 1949 Grand Theater in Chongqing is dedicated to the immersive red-themed stage play Chongqing·1949. Set on the eve of Chongqing’s liberation in 1949 and centered in Ciqikou, the show weaves parallel storylines: the fates of three brothers with conflicting ideals, the unyielding spirit of revolutionaries imprisoned in Zhazidong and Baigongguan, underground Party rescue efforts, and hope for the future. It features a world-first 360° rotating stage and dynamic audience seats, paired with cutting-edge sound, lighting, and special effects.
