I am an award-winning writer and photographer who has worked in CDMX for 15 years and lived here full-time for the last 5. I live and have a studio in the Centro Histórico and know its streets, locations, and people well. I have been documenting the underground cabaret and burlesque scene in the city for the last several years, shooting the majority of my work in the same neighborhood we’ll be traversing.
Aside from writing and photography, I am an avid food and drink lover, and included along our walk will be me talking a lot about what makes this city great, tips on how to have a successful visit, where to eat and not to eat, and which shows and performances not to miss. If you are interested in the history of the city, its historic cantinas, pulquerias, and salons, you’ll have access to all the information you won’t find on Tik Tok or travel blogs.
We'll meet on the east side of the MUNAL, on a pedestrian-only street called Xicotencatl, between Tacuba and Donceles. Look for a guide with a beard, thick black framed glasses, and a camera in his hand. If you've seen the James Bond film Spectre, you'll know the spot from the opening scene.
