Valley of the Gods (Pass by)
The landscape of the Valley of the Gods is characterized by mesas, buttes, and spires made of Navajo sandstone, shaped by millions of years of erosion and wind. The Moki Dugway is a dramatic and scenic stretch of road located in southeastern Utah, near the town of Mexican Hat. It is a portion of State Route 261 that ascends the steep cliffs of Cedar Mesa, providing travelers with a thrilling drive and stunning views of the surrounding desert landscape. The Moki Dugway is a gravel switchback road that climbs approximately 1,100 feet over a distance of about 3 miles, offering panoramic vistas of Monument Valley, Valley of the Gods, and the San Juan River.
