The Mitad del Mundo (Middle of the World) is a famous monument located just in the north of Quito, marking the line that represents the country. This site is known for its symbolic importance as the division between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. The monument, built in 1936, is an iconic landmark that attracts visitors from all over the world. At the Mitad del Mundo, visitors can stand with one foot in each hemisphere, experiencing the unique position where the Earth is divided into two equal parts. The surrounding area also includes museums and cultural displays that highlight Ecuador's geographical and scientific significance.
