Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge is a striking architectural landmark set within the dramatic scenery of Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. Stretching 430 meters (1,410 feet) long and suspended 300 meters (980 feet) above the canyon floor, it was once recognized as the world’s longest and highest glass-bottom bridge. Walking across the transparent span offers a thrilling experience, with breathtaking views of sheer cliffs, lush forests, and the deep canyon below. The bridge combines adventure with unforgettable scenery, making it a must-see attraction for thrill-seekers, nature lovers, and visitors looking for a truly unique experience in China.
Enjoy a variety of exciting activities in Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, including VR experiences, zip lining, the sliding road, and boating, as you make your way through this stunning landscape. Often described as a natural “landform museum” of Zhangjiajie, the canyon beautifully combines mountains, water features, caves, and dramatic rock formations. Along the route, you’ll discover many scenic highlights such as Bandit Cave, One Line Sky, Chuangwang Pavilion, Rotten Ship Rock, Butterfly Spring Waterfall, and the Tianhe River Sightseeing Deck. You’ll spend approximately 2 hours exploring this picturesque valley.
The Bailong Elevator is the world’s highest and fastest sightseeing elevator, offering spectacular views of Zhangjiajie’s sandstone peak forest. Rising 326 meters, its three transparent elevators can transport up to 3,000 visitors per hour. The ride takes just 1.5 minutes, delivering a thrilling ascent straight to the top of the mountain.
After reaching the mountaintop by elevator, explore the dramatic stone pillars of Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, often described as a real-life “Pandora world.” During the hike, admire the towering South Sky Pillar, rising about 150 meters and recognized as the inspiration for Avatar’s famous Hallelujah Mountain. Continue to the Enchanting Platform, where countless sandstone peaks rise from the ground like bamboo shoots, creating one of the park’s most stunning panoramic views. You’ll also visit the remarkable First Bridge Under Heaven, a rare natural stone bridge formed by a narrow rock span linking two peaks—one of Zhangjiajie’s most unique natural wonders.
It is famous for its “Four Natural Wonders” — seas of clouds, stunning sunrises, enchanting moonlit nights, and snow-covered winter peaks. The area features several natural viewing platforms that offer breathtaking panoramas of the majestic peak forest landscape. Visitors can take a scenic cable car ride to the summit, enjoying the dramatic views along the way in a relaxing and comfortable manner.
Take a scenic cable car ride up Tianmen Mountain and walk along the spectacular plank road built along sheer cliffs. When mist drifts through the peaks, the landscape feels like a magical fairyland. The mountain’s most iconic sight is Tianmen Cave, meaning “Heaven’s Gate” in Chinese—a giant natural arch famously flown through by a world-class wingsuit stuntman. Popular highlights also include the thrilling Glass Skywalk, the dramatic 99-Bend Mountain Road, and breathtaking panoramic viewpoints.
Night Tour Option: Discover the iconic 72 Odd Building, a stunning architectural complex inspired by traditional Tujia stilted houses.
