Embark on a serene 2-hour canoe journey down the River Thames, starting from Lechlade and gliding towards the historic Kelmscott Manor, the former country home of influential writer and designer William Morris.

As you leisurely paddle, soak in the tranquil beauty of the Thames and keep an eye out for local wildlife. Upon arrival near Kelmscott Manor, you'll have a short walk from the river to the Manor's entrance (a trolley is provided to assist with your canoe).

You will start your trip from our Riverside base on the banks of the River Thames in Lechlade.

What to expect

The leisurely self guided paddle from Lechlade to Kelmscott Manor will take you approximately 2 hours, allowing ample time to meander along the gentle currents of the Thames. As you navigate the river, you'll have the opportunity to see the abundant wildlife the area has to offer.

When you arrive at Kelmscott Manor, you will have a short walk from the River to the Manor, a trolley will be provided to assist you with your canoe. This section of the day, requires you to carry the canoe a short distance to the Thames Path. On most occasions, staff from the Manor will be there to meet or help you.

The price of the trip includes canoe hire, a complementary refreshment of tea or coffee upon arrival at the lovely cafe, entry to the Manor House & Gardens. In addition you will also have a traditional English afternoon Cream Tea to enjoy in the grounds.

We will also collect you later at closing time and transport you back to Lechlade, allowing you plenty of time to explore this wonderful location.
