On the first day, traverse the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, indulging in the breathtaking scenery and exploring Berber villages along the way. Discover the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou Kasbah and Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate before heading southeast to the Dades Valley. Enjoy a night in Dades Gorges, surrounded by the enchanting ambiance of a local riad or hotel.
The adventure continues on the second day as you explore the Dades Valley, marvel at the Toudra Gorges, and journey through Erfoud, famous for its dates. Experience the Sahara magic in Merzouga, riding camels into the desert, witnessing a spectacular sunset, and spending a night in a Nomad tent under the stars.
Day three unfolds with a captivating sunrise in Merzouga, followed by a return to the village and a drive to Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa. Revel in the cinematic landscapes and stay overnight in a local hotel, savoring dinner and breakfast.
Our designated driver will be waiting adjacent to Les Jardins de la Koutoubia, 26 Rue de la Koutoubia, Marrakech, Morocco , clearly holding a sign displaying our company name for easy identification.
We will pick you up at your hotel or the airport in Marrakech, to embark on our 4 days trip to the desert. We begin our trip through the High Atlas Mountains. Via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass – enjoying spectacular views of the stunning landscape. Stop for lunch in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou – also famous for being the filming location of many movies and television series. Then we move to Ouarzazate, will take you to the historical monument of the Taourirt Kasbah – once classified as the biggest and most beautiful in all Morocco. Our trip then continues through the Valley of the Roses – known for its blossoms in April and May, as well as an annual Festival of Roses. We will pass through the Berber villages of El Kelaa des M’Gouna and Boumalne du Dades, where you will settle for the night.
After breakfast in Dades Valley, we will start towards Merzouga. Then pass through the Berber Village of Tinghir and the Todgha Gorge – a series of limestone canyons, where the rock face is as high as 600 metres, and only 10 metres wide. Travelling on through several small Berber villages, we will then break for lunch in Tinjdad or Rissani, where you will feast on the local speciality known as Berber pizza and a refreshing glass of mint tea. Merzouga desert Upon our arrival in Merzouga, your luggage will be stored in a safe room at the hotel, after which you will then embark on your camel trek into the desert. En way to your desert camp, you will then stop to enjoy the views of the sunset over the magnificent sand dunes of Erg Chebbi – the highest in North Africa. After an approximately 90-minute camel ride, you will arrive at your desert camp, which is fully equipped with beds and covers, flushing toilets, showers, and a restaurant. You will enjoy a local dinner.
Wake up early so that you won’t miss the amazing experience of seeing the sunrise over the mighty Sahara Desert. It presents an awe-inspiring photo opportunity, not to be missed, and never to be forgotten. When you are ready, you will return to the hotel in Merzouga, where you will collect your luggage and have time to freshen up and have breakfast, before we hit the road back to Ouarzazate. We will again be passing through the towns of Alnif, Tazzarine, N’kob and the Draa Valley. You will be taken to your hotel in Ouarzazate, where you can enjoy a tasty dinner and a relaxing evening.
After breakfast, we will be waiting to take you back to Marrakech, via the High Atlas Mountains. We will return you to your hotel, or to the airport. end of 4 days from Marrakech.
