The visit to the Sanctuary of the Humpback Whales in Samana is one of the most beautiful excursions that exist in the Dominican Republic in the beautiful bay and in the Silver Bank, located in the Northwest of the country, where Every year, between the months of December and March, about 2,000 humpback whales come to reproduce in the warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Cayo Levantado, also known as «Bacardi Island», is an islet in the bay of Samaná, which belongs administratively to the Province of Samaná, northeast of Santo Domingo Island in the Dominican Republic.
