Tuna Fishing off the Coast of Limassol — Power, Excitement, and an Unforgettable Trophy
Tuna fishing is a real challenge and one of the most thrilling types of sea fishing in Cyprus. Starting in early July, large schools of albacore tuna move into the coastal waters near Limassol, actively hunting flying fish and small squid. This is the perfect time for trolling — a technique where lures are dragged behind a moving boat.
When a tuna strikes, it’s unforgettable. A powerful hit, a sudden pull, and an intense fight begins. These fish can weigh 20–30 kg, and reeling one in requires strength, patience, and skill. But that’s exactly what makes it so rewarding — to feel the raw power of the ocean on the other end of the line.
After a successful catch, the fish can be cleaned and prepared right on board — tuna can be served as sashimi, smoked, or grilled. Or you can take it home as both a delicious treat and a proud reminder of your ocean adventure.

What to expect
Tuna Fishing in Cyprus
In the morning, our guests board a comfortable boat, ready for an exciting sea adventure. After a short safety briefing and an introduction to the fishing gear, we head out into the open sea. Along the way, you can enjoy beautiful coastal views and the refreshing sea breeze.
Once we reach the fishing grounds, we begin trolling — a method of fishing using special equipment. Lures that imitate small fish and squid are towed behind the boat at a speed of 6–8 knots. At this point, it’s important to stay alert: a tuna strike is sudden and powerful.
When a tuna bites, the most thrilling part begins — the battle with a strong and fast fish. Guided by the captain, you will work to reel in the tuna, feeling the rush of adrenaline and pride. Our team is always there to assist and ensure your fishing experience is safe and successful.
After fishing, we return to the port. On board, you can relax with refreshing drinks and share your stories and impressions of the adventure. If you wish, we can also take souvenir photos and arrange the cleaning and filleting of your catch
