At Heart of Alaska Tours, we believe the best way to experience Alaska is with someone who truly calls it home. We're a locally owned small business, not a large tour company running guests through a script.
When you travel with us, you're not just another seat on a bus. We keep our groups small so we can share the places, stories, and experiences that made us fall in love with Alaska in the first place.
Our guides have spent years exploring Alaska's backroads, trails, wildlife areas, and small towns. We know where to stop for the best views, where wildlife is often seen, and how to adapt each day to make the most of your adventure. We focus on authentic Alaska experiences, genuine hospitality, and personal service. There are no rushed schedules,—just unforgettable adventures led by people who are passionate about sharing the true heart of Alaska.
Our goal is simple: to help you experience Alaska the way locals do and leave with memories that last a lifetime.

What to expect

Operated by: Heart of Alaska Tours
Join us for a scenic drive through the beautiful Alaskan wilderness on a journey to the world-famous Chena Hot Springs, located just over 60 miles from Fairbanks. Along the way, keep your eyes open for local wildlife—moose, foxes, and even the occasional bear may be spotted!

Upon arrival, we begin with a visit to the Aurora Ice Museum—a stunning year-round ice structure built entirely from over 1,000 tons of ice and snow. Inside, you’ll have the option to sip an Apple-tini served in a hand-carved ice glass at the ice bar (optional add-on).

Then, end your evening with the ultimate highlight: a relaxing soak in the natural geothermal rock pool under Alaska’s famous midnight sun. The mineral-rich waters are renowned for their soothing and healing properties—a perfect way to unwind before the scenic drive back to Fairbanks.

Includes: Transportation, Ice Museum admission, Hot Springs pool pass
Optional Add-ons: Appletini, Towel rental
We highly discourage the restaurant due to possible long service times, especially during busy periods. We have snacks and water in the van.
The activity center also sells quick snacks, drinks, and light food items.
