    Mercado de Las Brujas

We will begin our adventure in the emblematic Church of San Francisco. From there, we will head to La Paz’s famous Witch Market, followed by a visit to St. Peter’s Square and the infamous jail of the same name (which we will observe only from the outside). Then, we will board several cable cars to discover the city from the heights and enjoy its breathtaking views. The route continues to El Alto, where we will explore another Bruges Market, very different from that of La Paz, and if it is Thursday or Sunday, you can also tour part of the huge market that is installed those days. Returning to La Paz, we will walk along the charming Jaén Street, a colonial gem, and then visit the main square, where the cathedral and the main government buildings are located. We will finish the tour by touring outdoor markets and various local shops, before returning to the starting point: the Church of San Francisco.

    Train Cemetery

We will start the tour leaving from Uyuni to this fascinating place. There you will find a large collection of abandoned locomotives and carriages dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These oxidized iron relics are the memory of a time when Uyuni was a major railway hub for transporting minerals to the Pacific coast. You’ll have time to explore, take spectacular photographs among the time-corroded structures and learn about the stories surrounding this railway cemetery, such as the legend that even Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid passed through this region. This tour is perfect as an introduction to the Salar de Uyuni route, and a mandatory stop for lovers of history, photography and unique landscapes.

    Colchani

Located just 20 minutes from Uyuni, Colchani is a small Andean village that serves as an anteroom to the majestic Salar de Uyuni. Although it is a small town, its cultural richness and its connection with salt make it a must-see stop on any tour of the salt flat. In Colchani, visitors can learn about the artisan process of salt extraction and refining, which has been going on for almost the same period of generations. You will see how salt is dried, ground and bagged by hand, and learn about the importance of this activity to the local economy. In addition, Colchani is an excellent place to acquire typical crafts: from sculptures carved in salt to alpaca textiles and souvenirs made by local communities. You can also visit small folk art galleries, homemade salt museums, and viewpoints overlooking the salt flat. We'll have lunch here.

    Salar de Uyuni

The Salar de Uyuni is one of the most impressive natural wonders on the planet. Spanning more than 10,000 km2, this gigantic white desert was, millions of years ago, a prehistoric lake that, when dried, left an immense blanket of pure salt, creating a unique and unrealistic landscape. During the dry season (May to November), salt flats offer a solid surface and crack in natural geometric shapes. In contrast, in the rainy season (December to March), a thin layer of water turns the salt pan into the largest natural mirror in the world, reflecting the sky with amazing perfection. Beyond its visual beauty, the salt flat is also an important lithium reserve, vital for modern technology, and home to a special biodiversity, including Andean flamingos at certain times of the year. At the end of the tour we will go to the land terminal of Uyuni to embark for La Paz - Boliva.
