    Barone Fortress

The Barone Fortress (also known as Šubićevac Fortress; Croatian: Tvrđava Barone or Tvrđava Šubićevac) is a fortress constructed in 1646 on Vidakuša hill above the city. The fortress was revitalized and re-opened in January 2016. Like the renovated St. Michael's Fortress in 2014, Barone Fortress also won the national Cultural Attraction of the Year Award in 2016. It now offers its visitors a digital tour through Šibenik's past via an augmented reality platform and other multimedia features.

St. John's Fortress (also known as Tanaja; Croatian: Tvrđava sv. Ivana) is located atop a hill north of the city's historical center. It was named after a medieval church dedicated to St. John the Baptist, which had stood there since at least 1444. The fortress, along with the adjacent Barone Fortress, was constructed during the Cretan War and successfully repelled consecutive Ottoman attacks in 1646 and 1647. The local name for the fortress, Tanaja, originates from one of its structures, a plier-shaped outwork, or tenaille (Italian: tenaglia).

St. Michael's Fortress is a medieval fort situated on a steep hill above the old historic center of the town. The fortress was named after the oldest church in Šibenik, St. Michael's Church, which was located inside its walls. One theory suggests that the church was built during the first wave of Christianization of Croatia, from the late 8th to the early 9th century. Since its re-opening in July 2014, the fortress's open-air summer stage has become an important part of Šibenik's cultural life. Today, it is the second most-visited heritage monument in Šibenik, as well as the second most-visited fortification in Croatia.

    Saint Jacques Cathedral

The Cathedral of St. James is one of the most significant and beautiful architectural achievements in Croatia and has been included on the UNESCO Cultural World Heritage List since 2000. It was constructed over a period of more than a hundred years, during the 15th and 16th centuries, and is unique for being built entirely of stone. The most important builders of the cathedral were Juraj Dalmatinac (Georgius Mathei Dalmaticus) and Nikola Firentinac (Niccolò di Giovanni Fiorentino). Initially built in the Gothic style, it was later completed in the Renaissance style. Our final stop at the cathedral is perfect for a short walk through the pedestrian zone, allowing you to explore a part of Šibenik's rich history as well as experience the local lifestyle today.
