Description of the Tour Summit Conquest : Ilamatepec Volcano We started our adventure in Los Volcanes National Park to hike to the top of Santa Ana Volcano (Ilamatepec), the highest point in the country. For about 3 hours (ascent and descent), we will travel paths that cross three types of vegetation: from the foggy forest to the volcanic terrain of rugged rock. The effort is rewarded when you arrive at the crater, where you will see a stunning turquoise green sulfurous water lagoon inside, with a 360-degree view that spans the Pacific Ocean, Izalco Volcano and Cerro Verde.
Relaxation and Gastronomy : Lake Coatepeque After descending from the summit, we will move to the majestic Lake Coatepeque, a body of water of volcanic origin located in a caldera. We will enjoy a well-deserved lunch in a restaurant with panoramic views, where you can taste local cuisine while admiring the vastness of the lake and its waters, which at certain times of the year change to a vibrant turquoise hue. It is the perfect setting to rest and enjoy the cool breeze after the morning walk.
